How much does it cost to train?
We aim to keep Taekwondo as accessible as possible. Below is a summary of the typical costs involved in addition to your monthly fees:
What is the annual insurance fee?
All members are required to pay an annual insurance fee of £42 per year. This covers you for training and official activities.
How much does equipment cost?
You can start with basic sportswear, but as you progress, you will need:
Full sparring kit: approximately £130
Taekwondo suit (dobok): approximately £40
Club T-shirt: £18
Black Training Bottoms: £25
How much are gradings (belt tests)?
Grading fees depend on your level:
Coloured belt gradings: £33
Black belt gradings: start at approximately £150
Star Gradings: £25
Are there competition costs?
If you choose to compete, the typical fees are:
£20 for your first event
£15 per event after that
£5 team registration fee (paid on the day)

General FAQ's
Do I need any experience to join?
Not at all! We welcome complete beginners as well as those with previous martial arts experience. Our classes are structured to support you from day one.
What age groups can join?
Anyone aged 4 and above is welcome to join our club.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes! We offer a free trial session so you can experience a class before committing.
Can parents watch classes?
Parents are welcome to watch the trial session, but regular classes are not open to spectators.
What should I wear to my first class?
Comfortable sportswear—such as a t-shirt and joggers or shorts—is perfect for your first session. We take off socks and shoes.
Once you join, you’ll need a Taekwondo uniform (dobok).
Will I have to spar?
Yes—sparring is part of Taekwondo training. However, it is always safe, controlled, and supervised by experienced instructors. We ensure all students are properly prepared and confident before taking part.
